The Heart of Africa

Uganda is a landlocked country in East-Central Africa, bordered by Kenya to the east, South Sudan to the north, the Democratic Republic of Congo to the west, Rwanda to the southwest, and Tanzania to the south.

Often called the "Pearl of Africa" β€” a name coined by Winston Churchill β€” Uganda is celebrated for its extraordinary natural beauty, spanning from snow-capped mountains to vast savannahs, tropical rainforests, and the great lakes of East Africa.

The country covers approximately 241,551 square kilometres, with Lake Victoria β€” Africa's largest freshwater lake β€” forming much of its southern border.
